Innvoation in Solar Technologies is occuring at wide spectrums of creativity. Not only are we witnessing increased solar cell efficiencies and new solar cell technoloies, but also innovative methods of Solar PV integration into building materials. Two companies leading developments include Monier and SRS Energy.
The design of Monier's new photovoltaic (PV) tiles works seamlessly with its flat profiled tiles.
Monier's new Solartile uses the latest PV technology to convert sunlight into electricity.
The tiles work in much the same way as a conventional bolt-on PV panel, but there's one very important difference: the integrated design. Developed to work seamlessly with Monier's range of flat profiled concrete tiles, Monier's
Solartile is an innovative product that delivers a green energy solution with good design and aesthetic appeal at its core.
US manufacturer SRS Energy has designed a solar panel that integrates into, not over, roof tiles.
While similar to products such as Just Roof PV panels and Monier’s Solartile, these panels differ by integrating with the roof, instead of being installed over traditional roofing.
Made from a lightweight recyclable plastic molded with a flexible solar cell, SRS acknowledges the design does gather less energy than flat panels, but says it reacts to a broader spectrum of light.
