On December 20, 2010 DelSolar Company, Ltd. (Hsinchu City, Taiwan) announced that it has received accreditation under the U.K.'s Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) for its solar photovoltaic (PV) modules. DelSolar notes that it is the first company in Taiwan to receive this certification, which will allow U.K. system owners using DelSolar modules to participate in the nation's feed-in tariff.
"The MCS certification, issued by TÜV SÜD Taiwan, shows that DelSolar's solar modules have surpassed the quality and safety standards required in the U.K.," declared DelSolar in a press statement. "It is designed to evaluate products and installers against rigorous criteria providing greater protection for consumers."
MCS addition latest in DelSolar certifications
DelSolar notes that the MCS certification involves type testing of products and an assessment of manufacturing processes, materials and procedures, as well as staff training. DelSolar notes in addition to the MCS certification, it has achieved TÜV Rheinland AG (Köln, Germany), Underwriter's Laboratories Inc. (Northbrook, Illinois, U.S.), and J ETPVm (Japan) certification for its PV modules, and ISO9001, ISO14001, and OHSAS 18001 certification for its factories.
