Dux Solar Hot Water Systems

Dux is renowned for manufacturing hot water systems that last for many years. The company knows hot water systems back to front – as you would expect from a company that has been around since 1915!

Dux systems are made in Australia and have been elemental in paving the way for efficient and trustworthy systems that stand the test of time due to the company's extreme focus on quality.

DUX high efficiency solar collectors feature a black chrome surface to increase the absorbtion of UV rays, and hance generating more hot water than many competing products. In addition, Dux use 4mm toughened glass for additional protection against hail damage, many competing products use 3.2mm glass.

For those cloudy days the SUNPRO solar hot water system provides the benefit of an electric boosting function to raise the temperature within the tank so you always have hot water. The Dux patented 'Hot Logic' processor constantly searchs for and switch to the cheapest available energy source.

The electric boost elements are mounted midway up the tank, heating up the top of the tank first. This significantly reduces electricity consumption during the times when the back-up boost is required.

Important Features:

  • Next generation split system design with tank on the ground and solar collectors on the roof, which means no ugly tanks on the roof and structural inspections and certificates are not required.
  • Sunpro solar hot water collectors weigh less than 100kg, which means roof strengthening is not required. (Outdated roof tank models can weigh in excess of 450kg)
  • Multi-temperature sensor viterous enamel hot water storage tank confirguration
  • High performance black chrome solar collectors
  • 4mm toughened glass for greater protection against the weather
  • Patented Hotlogic processor that constantly searchs for and switches to the cheapest available energy source.

About Dux Hot Water:

Dux water heaters have been heating water for Australians since 1915, when the Middleton family decided on the name Dux, meaning best, for its new range of electric water heaters for showers and baths.
By 1940, their company, Dux Heaters Pty Limited, had developed its first instantaneous water heater, a ceramic unit. In 1960 it added copper roof tanks to its range, which then covered bath and shower heaters, instantaneous bath and shower heaters and instantaneous water heaters.

In 1964, Dux introduced its first mains pressure units to meet the needs of the high rise housing which was becoming increasingly popular.
The original Dux mains pressure units were galvanised. These were followed by the Dux Cusilmatic, made from a bronze and copper alloy. These units were replaced by steel tanks with copper lining, and then by ones with a glazed, vitreous enamel finish, some of which still operate today.

While the company has grown substantially since these early days, the words of that original motto still apply. Today as part of the GWA International Limited group of household brand names including Caroma, Sebel, Dorf Clark and Rover, Dux is marketed throughout Australia and overseas.

Dux is committed to producing high quality products and to the on-going development of new products. Since 1989, all its product research and manufacture has been carried out at modern facilities in the New South Wales town of Moss Vale. With a comprehensive range of gas, electric, solar and heat pump water heaters for domestic and commercial applications alike, the Dux name has become a symbol of quality and durability.
