High Quality Solar Installation - Guaranteed

Engineering is most important when installing solar PV mounting technology onto a roof, and is just as important as the quality of the solar panels and inverters.

 

The Clean Energy Centre only install the highest quality hardware specifically engineered for solar panel installations and to withstand cyclone strength winds. Only qualified tradespeople are employed and only the highest quality components are used to withstand the harsh conditions commonly experienced on Australian rooftops.                                                                   

 

A 5 year warranty is provided on the installation workmanship, therefore it is in our interests to be very particular in the quality and detail employed. Below are examples of the detail of quality we employ on all installations.....

 

Metal Roof Installation Components:

  • Specifically engineered rust-free brackets are used to attached the solar panel rack framing to metal roof structures (e.g. Image 1).
  • All roofing screws are replaced with larger galvanized roofing screws to ensure adequate strength (e.g. Image 1).
  • Rubber Seals are applied top and bottom, and a generous amount of silicon is used to ensure and excellent permanent seal from high pressure rain (e.g. Image 2 & 3).

Tile Roof Installation Components:

Due to the width and size of the bracket required for attaching solar frame racks to tile roofs, alumiunium is not strong enough. Stainless Steel is one of the strongest metails available, plus it is 100% rust free.

  • Therefore, we only use stainless steel frame attachment brackets on tile roof installations.
  • These are fastened using large high strength rust protected galvanised scrws.

Solar Panel Rack Frames:

The Clean Energy Centre only uses Solar Frame Racking that is specifically engineered for the installation of solar panels and are tested and wind rated for high wind load and cyclone wind loads for Australian conditions.

  • We only install Rust-Free clear anodized 6105-T5 alumiunium extrusions and brackets (exception - tile brackets are stainless steel)
  • All fastenings are Rust-Free 304 Stainless Steel
  • Engineering Certificates are provided at the completion of the installation

Solar Panel Electrical Wiring Protection:

The Clean Energy Centre only employ fully qualified and highly experienced electricians who are Clean Energy Council certified to perform grid connected solar power installations. This delivers greater assurance to our customers and another reason why we can offer a 5 year installation warranty where the majority of our competitors can only offer 1 year.

  • Only high grade DC Voltage cable is used to connect solar panels to minimise current loss due to electrical resistance. On the average installation which does not use the correct cabling and connection techniques, up to 5% of power output can be lossed due to current resistance caused by cheap low grade cable and connectors. The Clean Energy Centre install only the highest grade to minimise loss to 0.5%.
  • Only Waterproof and lackable connectors are used that are specially designed for grid connected solar power installations. These connectors minimise current resistance and output loss, and are lockable so they cannot work there way loose due to vibration or other impacts )Image 1).
  • Only UV Resistant flexible cable conduit is used to protect all cabling against the harsh UV rays. UV Resistant flexible conduit is coloured black and will last 10+ years. Non-UV resistant flexible conduit is coloured grey/white and will only last 12 to 24 months in average UV exposure conditions. When comparing quotes - please check what quality of components the installer is preparing to install (Image 2).
  • All cable roof penetrations are completely sealed using special roof seals that are UV resistant (Image 2).
  • All circuit breakers and isolation switches are installed in specially manufactured waterproof casing that achieve the highest protection rating of IP65 (Image 3).

Cable penetrations through roof tiles should also utilise a rubber decktight that is siliconed to the tile. Many companies will drill a hole through the tile and then silicon the cable penetration. Beware of this practice, silicon does break down over time in sunlight, and leaks can occur. The Clean Energy Centre avoids this by using a rubber deck tight on cable penetrations through tiles.

All solar cabling is carefully fastened to the solar racking frames to ensure they do not come into contact with the very hot roof surface, plus to ensure they areprotected by the shade of the solar panels against harmful UV rays.
